A day with…
Telma, Service Advisor at Garage Losch & Cie - Junglinster

Telma began her career in 2013 with training as a bodywork technician at Garage Losch & Cie - Junglinster. Since 2023, she has been working as a Service Advisor bodywork, bringing her experience into direct contact with customers.

„If you pretend to be someone you’re not, customers notice immediately. In this profession, you need patience, strong communication skills and, above all, confidence in yourself. Because only by being authentic can you build trust.“

How did you come to Losch Luxembourg?

I developed an interest in cars and working with customers at an early age.
I first heard about Losch through recommendations and people around me. Many people talk about the company, especially its development and good reputation.
I was also convinced by the variety of brands and the development opportunities.

What path led you to this profession?

I completed training in bodywork.
For me, it was important to have a technical foundation. In this profession, you need to understand vehicles in order to advise customers properly.
When a customer comes in with damage, you need to be able to assess what can be done and how the process will work.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

My day starts with preparation and organisation.
I schedule appointments and coordinate with the workshop so that everything is ready.
Then I welcome customers, inspect the damage together with them and create the work orders.
Throughout the day, I stay in contact with customers and keep them informed about the progress of the work or any additional measures.
I also coordinate with the workshop and insurance companies and organise the vehicle handover.

How does teamwork work?

There are several Service Advisors in the team, and each of us manages our own cases.
Even so, we exchange information regularly and support one another.
It is important for everything to be well documented so that a colleague can take over a case at any time.

Which skills are important in your profession?

You should enjoy working with people.
Communication, patience and empathy are very important.
You also need strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate several tasks at the same time.
Technical understanding is also necessary in order to explain the vehicles and the work being carried out.

What is the biggest challenge in your job?

You have to coordinate many tasks at the same time and stay calm, even in stressful situations.
Every customer is different, so you constantly have to adapt.

Why is the profession still rewarding?

Because you can help people.
Many customers come to us in difficult situations, and you support them throughout the entire process.
At the end, when the customer is satisfied, it is very motivating.

Is there an experience that has particularly stayed with you?

Yes. For example, there was a customer who was very stressed because of a problem with her vehicle.
I took the time to reassure her and help her.
In the end, she was very grateful. Moments like that stay with you.

What makes working at Losch Luxembourg particularly attractive?

Above all, the team.
You can rely on your colleagues and receive support from your managers.
There are also development opportunities and further training.
Overall, the working atmosphere is very positive.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to work in this profession?

You should be open and not be afraid of new challenges.
It is important to ask questions and keep developing.
If you show interest, you can learn a great deal.

Are there any misconceptions about your profession?

Some people think the job is very stressful or that you only deal with problems.
In reality, there are also many positive moments, especially when you find solutions and customers are satisfied.

What is the most important thing in your profession?

Trust.
You have to be honest and build a good relationship with the customer.
That is the foundation of everything.
